NRA: Very Good

Trumman rymmer sex skott i kaliber .31". Single-action.

"One Line New York" pipadress.

90% trumscen.

Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver with serial number 256781. Manufactured in 1864 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company in Hartford Connecticut.

The barrel length on this specimen is 6", the longest version produced. The drum holds six rounds in .31". Single action.

With over 300,000 examples produced, this was one of Colt's most successful models overall.

"One Line New York" mailing address. "COLTS PATENT" on left side of frame. "31 CAL" on the left side of the fender. Drum scene representing the "diligence robbery". Underneath, same serial number on barrel, frame, breech and backstrap. The same serial number is also found in parts on the upper side of the loading arm, the wedge of the barrel, the outside of the drum and the underside of the drum shaft at the front. The copy is considered number correct.

Smooth fine surfaces with very few handling marks. A fine light brown bluing residue covers the barrel. Some bluing is present on the protected parts of the barrel. The loading arm has a strong flame hardening color on the upper side. Warbar and backstrap have a wrong silver ring left, not oxidized but rather washed. More on the varbygel. 90% drum scene. The cork tree is a real highlight. Original patina with almost all the finish preserved and absolutely perfect fit, beautifully changing color in the light.

Mechanically well-functioning revolver. The feed works exactly as it should with distinct notches. Locks well in full tension with insignificant play radially and axially. New nipples fitted. The barrel has deep, sharp rifling with an evenly distributed surface patina. The clearance between drum and barrel is a bit large, 0.45 mm. For regular shooting, it may be appropriate to add welds to the back of the drum or shims, which some people prefer. It's fine to shoot with it as it is, too, but with some splatter. Nipples and screws are loosened and lubricated.

A jewel made during the American Civil War that is clearly a worthy collector's item. It is attractive as a shooter too, with its long barrel.

Imported by us some time ago from the USA.

Adresse postale "One Line New York".
